On July 31, 2024, the Office for Students (OfS) released their report on sexual harassment and misconduct.

Many of the issues relate to university polices and procedures and the provision of support to students. In addition, there is a significant focus on provision of information, open disclosure of the universities policies and procedures for training staff and students.

Future plans:
Staying Safe V4 to be released in August 2025

Over the next 10 months we will be working with expert groups to develop accompanying training packages for university staff and creating additional modules to support the delivery of effective and engaging resources to educate and empower students to address issues of harassment and sexual misconduct, sexual violence and assault.

Modules dealing with the following topics will form an additional part of the offering:

  • toxic masculinity

  • how to address misconduct among peers

  • understanding the additional challenges faced by those within the LGBTQI community and ethnic minority groups

We will work with universities, student unions, law firms and human resources to create a comprehensive package to help universities ensure compliance with these new regulations.

Launching September 2024, Staying Safe V3 builds on our existing programme, which recognised the importance of addressing issues of sexual assault and consent as part of our mission to reduce the risk of harms that may be experienced by university students from inception.
